I have loved everything in this little masterpiece including the wording, the three little intertwined tales and the plot.It might seem old-timer to be thrilled by the description of love and duty in both parties of a good marriage; then, yes I am an old-timer. How many women of all ages would nowadays make the same declaration without being ashamed?
I could compare Matilde Serao to Stendhal written in Italian style.
